The story
Three Finals, a louder legacy off the court
Founded in 2008, the Dream rose fast, reaching the Finals in 2010, 2011 and 2013, but lost all three, twice to the Minnesota Lynx at their peak.
The team's biggest mark may have come away from the box score. In 2020 the Dream's players led a public stand that drew national attention to the league's voice on social issues.
Atlanta is still chasing a first title, rebuilding around young talent and a fresh ownership group.
