Founded in 2006, the Sky spent their early years building before Courtney Vandersloot and Allie Quigley made them a regular playoff side.
The breakthrough came in 2021. Candace Parker came home to Chicago, joined that core, and the Sky won their first championship with Kahleah Copper named Finals MVP.
