The story

Wilt, Doctor J, and the long Process

One of the league's oldest franchises, the Sixers won as the Syracuse Nationals in 1955, then took the 1967 title behind Wilt Chamberlain on a team often called among the greatest ever.

In 1983, Julius Erving and Moses Malone delivered again, with Malone famously predicting fo-fo-fo for three straight sweeps. Philadelphia has always demanded greatness and booed anything less.

The modern era is The Process, a deliberate multi-year tank that produced Joel Embiid, an MVP center, along with years of high hopes and playoff frustration.

Between the banners, Allen Iverson's 2001 MVP season and Finals run, capped by his step-over of Tyronn Lue, became one of the most beloved chapters in franchise lore.
