MONACO

The fastest man without a crown.

Charles Leclerc has piled up pole positions like few drivers his age, and still has no world title.

Leclerc grew up in Monaco and lost his father and his close friend Jules Bianchi early in his career. He carried that grief into Ferrari, who promoted him in 2019. He is brilliant over one lap, a pole-position machine, and he wins races. For years a home win in Monaco escaped him, sometimes in cruel ways. He finally broke that curse in 2024, a deeply emotional day.

The title, though, has not come. Ferrari's strategy errors and patchy car pace have cost him. In 2025 he still led the team, finishing well clear of new teammate Lewis Hamilton in the standings. Leclerc is fast enough to be champion. He just needs the car and the calls to match him.

For the fans

Leclerc races with his heart on his sleeve. The Monaco win, the raw speed in qualifying, the emotion on the radio. He is the driver the tifosi have pinned their hopes on.

Punter's angle

Leclerc is a strong pole and front-row bet, because Ferrari often qualifies better than it races. For race wins, factor in Ferrari's habit of throwing away good positions. A podium finish can be safer value than backing him to win outright.
