Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice

Your data

Privacy policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Written in plain English.

Last updated: 17/06/2026

This policy explains how iGaming Reviews handles your personal information when you use our site at igamingreviews.org. It follows the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), South Africa’s data protection law.

The short version

  • We are a review site. You can read everything here without giving us any personal details.
  • We use analytics to see which pages are popular. This data is grouped, not tied to your name.
  • If you email us, we keep that email so we can reply.
  • We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
  • You can ask to see, correct, or delete the data we hold about you.

What we collect

Information you give us

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and whatever you write in the message. We use this only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit, our systems and tools record some standard technical data. This includes your rough location (country or region), the type of device and browser you use, the pages you view, and how you reached us. Our web host also keeps server logs that include IP addresses for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. We use them to make the site work and to understand how people use it.

We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to measure visits and popular pages. We also use a privacy-focused analytics tool to count traffic. These tools tell us things like “500 people read the casino reviews this week”. They do not tell us who you are.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, but some parts may behave differently.

Affiliate links and operators

We earn money through affiliate links. When you click a “Visit site” or “Claim bonus” button and sign up with an operator, that operator may pay us a referral fee. See our affiliate disclosure for the full detail.

When you click through to an operator, you leave our site and enter theirs. From that point, the operator’s own privacy policy applies, not ours. We do not control what they collect. We suggest you read the privacy policy of any operator before you sign up.

Why we are allowed to use your data

POPIA requires a lawful reason to process personal information. Ours are:

  • Your consent. For non-essential cookies and analytics, where consent is required.
  • Our legitimate interest. To run, secure, and improve the site, in a way that does not override your rights.
  • To answer you. When you email us, we use your details to reply.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data only with trusted providers who help us run the site, such as our web host, Google for analytics, and our analytics provider. These providers may only use the data to do their job for us.

Here are the main providers that may handle your data when you use this site. Each one only uses it to do their job for us.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.

How long we keep it

We keep email enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your query and our records. Analytics data is kept in grouped form for trend reporting. We do not keep personal information for longer than we need it.

Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is wrong.
  • Ask us to delete information we no longer need.
  • Object to how we use your information.
  • Complain to the regulator if you are not happy with our response.

To use any of these rights, email us at editorial@igamingreviews.org. You can also contact the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

How we protect your data

The site runs over a secure HTTPS connection. We use reputable providers and limit who can access any data we hold. No system is perfectly safe, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Age limit

This site covers gambling and is for adults only. It is not aimed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Data outside South Africa

Some of our providers, such as Google, store data on servers outside South Africa. Where this happens, we rely on providers that offer protection in line with POPIA.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. Please check back now and then.
