The story

Always close, never the crown

The franchise began in 1999 as the Orlando Miracle, then moved to Connecticut in 2003 to become the first WNBA team owned by a Native American tribe, the Mohegan.

The Sun have been a model of consistency, reaching the Finals in 2004, 2005, 2019 and 2022, yet they have never won the title. Few teams have been so good for so long without a banner.

Stars like Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner have kept Connecticut in contention year after year, chasing the one prize that keeps getting away.

For the fans

You support the league's great nearly-team. Four Finals, no ring, and a loyalty tested every autumn.

For the punters

A reliably strong regular-season side that often beat the spread, but the moneyline in the Finals has burned backers four times. Respect the pattern.
