The story

Leslie, Parker and the LA glamour club

One of the two original teams to play the first ever WNBA game in 1997, the Sparks were built on star power from day one.

Lisa Leslie, the first player to dunk in a WNBA game, led back-to-back titles in 2001 and 2002. A decade later Candace Parker and Nneka Ogwumike brought a third in 2016 with a Finals win over Minnesota.

Playing in the league's biggest media market, the Sparks have always carried a glamour profile to match their three banners.

For the fans

You have had two generational stars, Leslie then Parker, and a big-city stage that fits the team's swagger.

For the punters

A name-brand side that sometimes traded on reputation. The reads came from form, not the badge, so fade the hype when the roster was in flux.
