The quiet dynasty of the 2010s
Founded in 1999, the Lynx were ordinary until a run of draft luck delivered Maya Moore, Seimone Augustus, Lindsay Whalen and later Sylvia Fowles. Under coach Cheryl Reeve they became the team of the decade.
Minnesota won four titles in seven years, in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017, with a fierce rivalry against the Sparks defining the era. It was the most successful run in modern WNBA history.
After the dynasty wound down the Lynx rebuilt and stayed competitive, carrying the standard set by that golden core.
You watched a dynasty in a small market, a team that won the right way, defence and unselfishness first.
A well-coached side that rarely beats itself. Strong against the spread when the defence travels, and the under is often the read in their grind-it-out games.
