AboutThe publication

AboutTerrace.

Editorial on European football for the SA punter. A sister publication of Paddock, Hardwood and Shibobo. Part of the iGaming Reviews sports network.

What it is

Terrace covers the top five European leagues, the Champions League and Europa Cup, and the international tournaments. It treats football as journalism first, betting as the secondary lens. Match previews, tactical reads, transfer market analysis, a rotating picks board, the lot.

Who it is for

The SA punter who follows European football and bets on it. Premier League diehards. La Liga purists. Bundesliga value hunters. The Champions League knockout crowd. Anyone who wants real analysis with the bet attached, not a tipsheet wrapped in cliches.

How it is built

Static HTML, generated from a Python script that consumes the live data feed. The same feed that powers the iGR sports hub, narrowed to European football. The visual identity is broadcast-led: Saira Condensed for headlines (built for stadium scoreboards and TV graphics), DM Sans for body, Cormorant Garamond italic for editorial flourishes, Space Mono for stats and times.

How it sits in the network

Terrace is one of four sub-brands under the iGR sports network. The others are Paddock (motorsport), Hardwood (basketball) and Shibobo (South African football). Each is a standalone publication with its own nav, voice and palette. They share the underlying sportsbook reviews and the live data feed.

The football split

Terrace and Shibobo are the two football publications. The split is deliberate. PSL fans and Premier League fans want different things. PSL coverage written from a European desk reads flat. European coverage written by people who only watch the PSL misses half the tactical context. Two publications, two voices, two ranking surfaces. Same masthead.
