Many names, one big dream.

This team has changed its badge more often than most, and now a billionaire wants it to win.

The roots run through Jordan, Midland, Spyker, Force India and Racing Point. Eddie Jordan's outfit was the scrappy underdog that beat the giants on its day. Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll took over and renamed it Aston Martin in 2021. He has poured money into a new factory and a wind tunnel at Silverstone.

The high point so far was 2023. Fernando Alonso, then 41, rolled back the years with eight podiums in a single season. Results since have been up and down. For the future, Stroll has signed the greatest designer in the sport, Adrian Newey, and Aston Martin becomes the Honda works team in 2026. The plan is to turn money and talent into a first title.

For the fans

Alonso is the draw. A two-time World Champion still racing in his forties, still fast, still furious on the radio. If the new car is good, watching him fight at the front again would be special.

Punter's angle

Aston Martin is a show-me-first team for 2026. The Newey and Honda combination could be a game changer, or could take time to click. Smart money waits for the first few races. If the car is strong, Alonso podium markets early on may be priced before the market catches up.
