Congo DR hold Portugal to a draw
Portugal were held to a 1-1 draw by Congo DR on 17/06/2026. They started well. Joao Neves put Portugal ahead after just six minutes. The early goal hinted at a comfortable night.
Congo DR had other ideas. Yoane Wissa levelled right on half time to make it 1-1. The goal changed the mood and Portugal could not find a winner.
The dropped points left Portugal third in Group K after the opening round. Colombia took control of the group with a win. Portugal will need to be sharper to recover.
